Pomp and Circumstance: Sweet Treats and Decoration Ideas for Grad Parties

School’s not just out for the summer. For some of us, it’s out forever! And it’s time to celebrate with your graduate. Whether they’re moving from high school to college or from college to the dreaded “real world,” Mother Rucker’s Sweets wants to help make the transition a tasty one. Graduation parties come in all shapes and sizes, much like our array of sweets. See how our delicious desserts can enhance your celebration:

Cookie Trays. It doesn’t matter if your graduation party is for just a few close friends and family or the whole graduating class—it’s impossible to go wrong with a well-planned cookie tray. Arrange a few flavors from the Classic Cookie Brittle Collection around a small dish of whipped cream, marmalade or another complementary spreads as an alternative to chips and dip. Do the same with an assortment of our Sugar Gems to really get the party started.

Refreshments. We’ve covered ways to pair cookies with cocktails, but we have never really discussed the best drink to accompany your Mother Rucker’s dessert: milk.  It’s possible to purchase individual bottles of milk for your guests, or fill up a drink dispenser so party goers can keep coming back for more. Keeping a bottle of chocolate syrup next to your milk dispenser can certainly sweeten the deal, too.

Décor. What better way to honor the graduate than by turning his or her accomplishment into something everyone can enjoy—a customized cookie! Whether including a picture of the graduate on the first day of school, a graphic of the school’s mascot or the university-to-be’s logo, Mother Rucker’s can make it possible. To complement these sweet treats, you can’t go without some creative table decorations. Check out our Graduation Decor Pinterest board for some ideas.

Our scratch-made customizable sugar cookies come in two flavors: Almond with Almond Icing and Lemon with Lemon Icing. All custom cookies must be ordered at least two weeks in advance and require a minimum of two dozen per image.

Favors. No party is complete without something to give your guests. Send partygoers home with some individually wrapped Chippies, which are as classic as they are tasty. But be careful—these homemade chocolate chip cookies may have your friends and family waiting at your door for the next celebratory occasion!

Gift Baskets. What do you give the graduate who already has everything? Give them something they could always use more of—sweets! Our individually wrapped treats—such as Deluxe Chocolate Brownies and Blondies—can be added to nearly any gift basket to congratulate the graduate or to say “thanks” to the teachers, tutors and school administrators who helped them every step of the way.

No matter where your graduate’s path may lead, Mother Rucker’s Sweets looks forward to the ride ahead.
